On November 6, 2022, for students of the Faculty of Law of NAU, the Department of Economic, Air and Space Law organized an excursion to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, dedicated to the famous religious figure, philosopher Antony Pecherskyi.
Soon it will be 1040 years since the birth of Antony Pecherskyi (983–1073), an ecclesiastical figure of Kyivan Rus, one of the founders of the Kyiv Pecherskyi Monastery. Attention to his life and educational activities only grows over the years. With curiosity and thirst for knowledge about the past of Kyivan Rus, about the contribution of a famous monk to the development of Orthodoxy and national culture, students of higher education, together with the head of the department of economic, air and space law Lyubov Netska, visited the Near Caves of the Kyiv Lavra, as well as a spring with a chapel in honor of Reverend Anthony of Pechersky.
During the excursion, the students learned about Anthony's connection with Mount Athos, about the history of his creation of caves, because the saint is considered the founder of monasticism in Rus and a preacher, about the multifaceted activities of the monastery and difficult relations with princes who waged internecine wars. Saint Anthony took part in laying the stone Assumption Cathedral, which was built after his death and became the main temple of the monastery.
