On October 28, 2022, within the framework of the work of the Research Center for Anti-corruption Activities in the Transport and Aerospace Sectors of the Faculty of Law of NAU, a scientific and practical round table "Prevention of corruption during martial law: from theory to practice" was held with the participation of scientists and practical experts in the field of anti-corruption activity
The event was moderated by Tetyana Lysko, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Head of the Research Center for Anti-Corruption Activities in the Transport and Aerospace Sector.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister gave a welcome speech. Acting dean of the Faculty of Law, Candidate of Laws, Associate Professor Vadym Vyshnovetskyi, who drew attention to the relevance of anti-corruption activities in the conditions of martial law, noting: "The fight against corruption remains one of the biggest problems and is a topic of constant debate both for Ukraine and for the international community."
In-depth reports on combating corruption in Ukraine were delivered by: Doctor of Law, Professor, President of the Association of Ukrainian Lawyers, Professor of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Vasyl Kostytskyi; candidate of technical sciences, senior researcher, lawyer Leonid Belkin; Judge of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine Inna Bilous; judge of the Shevchenkiv District Court of Kyiv Olena Chaika; Doctor of Law, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Judiciary (Sumy State University) Olha Bondarenko; colonel, head of the scientific department supporting the education of integrity and implementation of best practices in the field of corruption prevention, Volodymyr Bevz; lieutenant colonel, senior researcher of the scientific department for supporting the education of integrity and implementation of best practices in the field of corruption prevention Rostyslav Pikul; deputy director of "U-Control" for legal issues, lawyer, stakeholder Danylo Globa and others.
The participants considered the issue of the danger of adopting corruption-inducing legal acts, which is currently carried out under the guise of military necessity; features of anti-corruption justice during martial law; transformational processes in corruption manifestations under martial law; practical aspects of determining the legal status of military officials as subjects of anti-corruption legislation; peculiarities of preventing corruption during the implementation of organizational and management measures in the application of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; use of open information in the form of public data to prevent corruption.
Summarizing the work of the round table, Rostyslav Kalyuzhny, Doctor of Law, Professor, Deputy Dean for Scientific Work of the Faculty of Law drew the attention of those present to the legal mechanism for preventing corruption.
