On October 25, 2022, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law organized a meeting for 2nd and 3rd year students with a practicing lawyer, attorney at Vdovychen and Partners, Ph. Maria Zolotareva.
The invited guest conducted an online webinar for students on the topic "Organization of Legal Business", in which she revealed the concept of legal business and described its types, such as: advocacy, corporate business, free legal aid, notarial activity, support of criminal proceedings, subscription services, audit of contracts, real estate audit, etc.
"Establishing a legal business carries great risks of not getting the expected result. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed to minimize possible losses at the initial stage of such activities. And the obstacles in building a legal business are quite often unpredictability of the result and the established awareness of the consumer of services that successful lawyers should "solve" their issues with law enforcement agencies and courts. All this also has a negative impact on such activities. An important step in building a successful company should be the formation of a team. This issue should be approached especially carefully, because personnel mistakes, insufficient level of training of employees can have a significant negative impact already at the initial stage of work", said Ms. Maria.
The participants were very interested in the explanation of the lawyer about marketing in the legal business, which plays perhaps the most important role, because it is the lever by which clients learn about the law firm and respond to specific offers.
The use of innovative educational methods in the educational process, in particular, the use of algorithmization of "immersion" of students in professional activities, contributes to the formation of competencies of future lawyers in the process of their professional training.
