On October 06, 2022, the International Round Table "Migration Crisis and Refugee Status in Europe" was held at the Faculty of Law.
In his opening remarks, Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Yurii Kuniev greeted the participants of the meeting and said: "The war forced millions of people to leave Ukraine, our country, as well as the EU as a whole, is experiencing the largest migration crisis since the Second World War. An unprecedented number of internally displaced persons from Ukraine flooded the countries of Europe. European organizations dealing with assistance to Ukrainian refugees are even preparing to change short-term measures to long-term programs if the crisis lasts for many months."
The event was attended by: Daria Dziuba, Organization "Culture Link" (Toronto, Canada), Bandar Nizar - Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Al-Zuhairi Muneam Tair Faris - Head of the College of Imam Al-Qadim of the Faculty of Law (Baghdad), Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, attorney, postgraduate student of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law. Baghdad), professor of the Department of Constitutional Law, attorney, postgraduate student of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Danylo Globa - attorney, deputy director of the company "U-Control" on legal issues, Inna Silantieva - President of the Association of Social Development through Law, member of the Secretariat of the Public Council of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.
The participants discussed the current problems of the migration crisis and the status of refugees in Europe, the influence of the Middle East on the migration situation in Europe, the use of open information in the form of public data to prevent migration crises as a consequence of negative socio-political phenomena, international legal aspects of judicial protection of refugees, etc.
Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law Oksana Myronets made a report on "Peculiarities of temporary asylum for citizens of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic", outlining the main problems faced by Ukrainian refugees who are forced to defend themselves from the attack of the aggressor state. Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Ksenia Tokareva, spoke about the practical aspects of obtaining refugee status.
Such events contribute to the expansion of international relations, increase the level of professional competence of scientific and pedagogical staff and strengthen the image of the Law Faculty of the National Aviation University among foreign higher education institutions.
