On September 29, 2022, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law together with the invited employment expert Ivanna Lavronova presented an online workshop on a topical issue for every law student: "Prospects of the labor market in the field of jurisprudence".
This event is dedicated to the analysis of difficulties that arise for students and graduates of the university who do not yet have sufficient experience in their specialty.
Among the most important issues of the labor market, the speaker revealed: How to make a resume to be "attractive" without work experience? What are the main elements of a resume? What information can be indicated if there is really no work experience? What skills are important in the new reality? How does an employer use data about a person in social networks? In what cases can an employer fire an employee for information in social networks? What channels can be used to find a job, etc.
"Increased competition, development of knowledge economy, information technologies, changes in the content and forms of labor require updating the labor market regulation system. Being the bearer of the innovative potential of society, young people make up more than half of the working-age population of the country and form a special contingent of the labor market, which is significantly different from other participants of this market. However, in the conditions of fierce competition, young professionals must be able to prove the availability of relevant knowledge, skills and abilities, and the higher education institution is faced with the task of acquiring relevant competencies by students and increasing their motivation for highly productive activities in the future," said Ms. Ivanna.
Concluding her speech, the expert gave advice to future young professionals on finding their first job, because for the country, young people are the population that is able to produce progress and raise the country's competitiveness. Therefore, it is very important to help young professionals find "their" employer who will enable them to start their career.
