Associate Professor of the Civil Law and Trial Department of the Faculty of Law Valeriia Filinovych from September 12 till September 19, 2022, took part in an international internship in Warsaw, participating in the Polish-Ukrainian school "Polish-Ukrainian Summer Camp for Young Scientists".
The organization of the internship was implemented thanks to the cooperation of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Polish Postgraduate Association (KRD Polish Association of Doctoral Candidates), the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN Polish Academy of Sciences), Warsaw University of Life Sciences SGGW (SGGW Warsaw University of Life Scie School of Economics SGH (SGH Warsaw School of Economics), Polish National Academy for Academic Exchange (NAWA Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange).
For eight days, young scientists representing 19 scientific institutions of Ukraine listened to scientific lectures and took part in workshops and visits to leading institutions of higher education in Warsaw.
The internship program included lectures on:
gender equality and counteraction to mobbing and harassment by Dr. Anna Cybulko, Academic Ombudsman of the University of Warsaw
innovative teaching methods by Dr. Kinga Kurovskaya Vilchinskaya, President of the Young Science Foundation;
Fundamentals of Scientific Literature Review by Dr. Patrik Dzhursky, Professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics;
community service and leadership by Joanna Lisetskaya of the Perspektywy Education Foundation;
the basics of networking and team building by Ekaterina Preidl, business coach, and the like.
Valeriia Filinovych also took part in workshops and seminars, namely: "Eurodoc" - Polish focus on academic advancement of gifted scientists from Ukraine; "IBE Research Integrity Workshop" - honesty in conducting scientific research; "Bumpy road from invention to business and how to walk it through" - start-up building, and also lectures on support for one's psychological health against the background of the war.
A group of young Ukrainian scientists visited the Warsaw School of Economics SGH (SGH Warsaw School of Economics), Warsaw University of Life Sciences SGGW (SGGW Warsaw University of Life Sciences), and other leading scientific institutions in Poland. An important step towards future scientific achievements was their visit to the Office of the Prime Minister of Poland, where they were able to communicate directly with representatives of the Polish government and present their proposals for further scientific cooperation in the academic field between both countries. Valeriia Filinovych, as a representative of the Faculty of Law of NAU, presented her suggestions for the exchange of legal scholars, grants for legal clinics, and internships for law students.
The result of the completed internship is the receipt by scientist Valeriia Filinovych of an international certificate of completion of the internship (80 hours).
