On September 18, 2022, the 8th Anniversary of the HWPL Peace Summit on the theme "Institutional Peace: Foundation for Sustainable Development" was held online with the participation of 5,000 participants from 146 countries, including Ukraine, the USA, Germany, South Africa, and Australia. The National Aviation University was represented at the Summit by Iryna Sopilko, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Nina Trotsyuk, Deputy Dean for Educational and Organizational Work.
Given the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the International Peacekeeping Non-Governmental Organization "Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light" (HWPL) under the UN ECOSOR called on the whole world for solidarity for peacebuilding at the global level through collective action with various participants including heads of state, ministers, legislators, religious leaders, educators, youth and women's leaders, and journalists. "This annual summit celebrates every year the peaceful activities and achievements in collaboration with governments and civil society around the world," said the HWPL spokesman.
Regarding the cause of peacebuilding at the global level, HWPL Chairman and veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Lee Man-hee said, “The UN was created for peace, and its Security Council with five permanent members was created for this very purpose. However, one of the five countries caused the war. It is not right. I call on all Russian authorities to immediately stop the war against Ukraine. The war must stop!" He added: “We live on the same planet and we are neighbors and family. Each of us must make our world a better place. Shouldn't we pass on the beautiful world to our future generations?
Marinus Bi, President of the National Assembly of Suriname, expressed his readiness to establish peace at the legislative level, noting: “The role of parliaments in building peace and preventing conflict is crucial. In cooperation with the HWPL, the National Assembly would like to establish a framework for cooperation in achieving an end to war and spreading a culture of peace through activities to raise peace awareness and encourage policies and programs relating to peace education.”
Octavia Alfred, Dominica's Minister of Education, Human Resource Planning, Skills, and National Advantage, noted in her speech that HWPL's world education has been integrated into the social sciences as well as being introduced as a separate subject into Dominica's National Curriculum. Chong Yong Min, CEO of IPYG, highlighted the role of youth as the main contributor to international peace action, stating that educational programs for 1,500 young people from around the world in 59 countries are being carried out to protect the basic rights of youth around the world so that everyone can live a happy life without being left behind.
