Recently, Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Candidate of Law, Doctoral Student of the Faculty of Law Oksana Myronets visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg (France).
Being in the walls of the Parliament, the teacher for higher education students of the faculty online and with the help of an interactive system presented information about the history of the European Parliament, its defined by the rules of procedure, powers, features of the "ordinary" and "special" legislative procedures, disclosed the legislative function, which is to issue EU legislation in the form of regulations, directives, decisions, defined the functions of political control, outlined the details of budgeting, annual expenditures, distribution of seats in the Parliament.
The students were especially delighted with the Ukrainian flag, which was flying on the flagpole under the building of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe, and the majestic appearance of the international judicial body of the European Court of Human Rights filled the conviction in the rule of law, justice, equality and freedom for all Ukrainian people in such difficult times for Ukraine.
The knowledge gained by the applicants within the framework of this online excursion and the skills acquired by the scientist during the trip will help to strengthen the participation of civil society in reforming the system of protection of the rights and freedoms of every citizen of Ukraine, as well as in the implementation by EU countries of the resolution on the protection of children and youth from Ukraine fleeing the war, adopted on April 7, 2022.
