On May 19, 2022, the Civil Law and Trial Department of the Faculty of Law held a round table "Implementation and protection of the child's right to a family upbringing during a state of emergency or martial law."
The event was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Iryna Sopilko, who noted the importance of ensuring the protection of minors in the context of the war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Representatives of institutions of higher education of Ukraine and practicing lawyers took part in the work of the scientific and practical round table, including: Larysa Krasytska - Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, Faculty No. 6 of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs; Maria Mendzhul - Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the State Higher Educational Institution "Uzhgorod National University"; Victoria Kozhevnikova - Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International and European Law of Khmelnitsky University of Management and Law named after Leonid Yuzkov; Denis Tikhomirov - Doctor of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law of the National Academy of Internal Affairs; Natalia Dyachkova - Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Support and Administration of Transport Activities of the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport; Tatyana Kirichenko - Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Law and Process, Faculty No. 6, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs; Oleksandr Tykhomirov - doctoral student of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, candidate of law, associate professor; Olga Starytska - Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law of the National Academy of Internal Affairs; Victoria Evko – Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines, Faculty No. 4, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Scientific and pedagogical workers of the department. The graduate students and applicants for the higher education of the Faculty of Law of NAU also joined the discussion.
The participants discussed issues of improving the legal regulation of relations on the implementation of the child's right to family teaching during martial law; legal aspects of foster care and state policy in Ukraine and foreign countries; features of family and actual teaching as legal forms of education of children left without parental care. Special attention was paid to the European experience and prospects for the introduction of partnerships in our country, the procedure for recognizing the validity of marriages with a foreign element, as well as the terms and deadlines in family law, and other issues that have become of particular importance in the family sphere under the current martial law.
According to the results of the round table, the reports of scientists who are characterized by a high scientific and practical level were noted and it was proposed to prepare articles and other research and educational materials based on the results of their research.
