On May 13, 2022, researchers of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law took part in the International Scientific Conference "War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity", organized by the Department of Criminal Procedure of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Marie Curie-Skłodowska University. As part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between NAU and UMCS, the teachers made reports on legislative activities in Ukraine during martial law. In particular, the head of the department Sofia Lykhova presented a report in which she reviewed and summarized the laws and regulations adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to the present. Associate Professor Vitoria Sysoyeva analyzed the new Article 1111 "Collaborative Activities" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, revealing the forms and types of collaborative activities and outlining the rules for qualifying this crime. Assistant Diana Maistro spoke about the novelties in the criminal legislation of Ukraine on the protection of animals from cruelty in martial law and analyzed the order of movement of animals across the border.
The speeches aroused the interest of Polish colleagues and a lively discussion, which touched upon many problems that arose in Ukraine in connection with the Russian aggression.
