On May 5, 2022, research and teaching staff of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law participated in the International Round Table "Criminal Law Responses to the Challenges of Martial Law in Ukraine", organized with the technical support of USAID Justice for All.

The introductory speech was addressed by: Vasyl Tatsiy, Doctor of Law, Professor, Adviser to the Rector of the Yaroslav the Wise National University of Law; Vladislava Batyrgareeva, Doctor of Law, Professor, Director of the Research Institute of Crime Problems named after Academician VV Stashis of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; Mykola Onishchuk, Doctor of Law, Professor, Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine; Yuriy Baulin, Doctor of Law, Professor, Chairman of the Working Group on the Development of Criminal Law of the Commission for Legal Reform under the President of Ukraine, Chairman of the NGO "All-Ukrainian Association of Criminal Law".

Leading scholars in the field of criminal law discussed the problems and prospects of amending the criminal law of Ukraine in martial law, considered the problematic issues of qualification of crimes against the national security of Ukraine, war and war crimes, analyzed national and international mechanisms of criminal responsibility for war crimes. issues of criminal law regulation in martial law.

Based on the results of the round table, a collection of materials will be published, which will include abstracts of participants with proposals for improving the current criminal law, comments on novelties of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and recommendations on qualification of certain types of war and war crimes.
