On April, 21, 2022 by an Informatively-elucidative center on human rights Faculty of law jointly with the department of theory and history of the state and right training was conducted on a theme "Protection of rights for a child in the conditions of martial law" (by materials of international and national standards of rights for a child) for students of establishments of universal middle education of city of Kyiv and regions of Ukraine.
The dean of faculty of law Iryna Sopilko, director, participated in a measure Informatively-elucidative center on human rights Olena Маkeіeva, manager of department theories and histories of the state and right are Svitlana Holovko, scientifically-pedagogical workers and students of a 1 course and students of schools, in particular: gymnasia № 154 and the specialized school of І-ІІІ degrees № 159 with the deep study of English of city of Kyiv, Stavyshchensky legal and pedagogical lyceum, Chervonoslobodskaya school of І-ІІІ degrees, Tcherkasy specialized school of І-ІІІ of degrees № 20, Zhytomyr municipal humanitarian gymnasium № 23 named after M. Ocheret.
«Russian aggression in Ukraine became a big call and test for all in particular and for children, first of all those that were or until now are in the battle zone actions. A topic is offered to the discussion today is very actual, as under time wars are violated all rights for a child: right on life, right to be with family and society right on a health, right on personality development, and also right on an anxiety and defense. These violations require the legal adjusting and defence from the side of both national and international institutes», opening the event said the dean of the faculty.
The participants of the training considered issues related to the concept of human rights and history of their origin, international and national documents that are legal the basis for the protection of children's rights, the mechanism for protecting the rights of children in wartime state, etc. Teachers provided students with practical advice on how to protect their rights as in civilian life and in wartime. The speeches were also interesting and informative presentations of students who actively participated in the discussion of protection of rights children.
«The war has changed the lives of millions of children, with long-term consequences next generations. Children are one of the most vulnerable groups growing up in war, protected by international humanitarian law and national law. However, today the safety of children, their well-being and access to basic services are all under a threat due to horrific violence that does not stop», said Olena Makeіeva.
At the end of the event, Ms. Olena revealed the benefits of studying law faculty and encouraged everyone to try their hand and become part of a large and friendly family of the National Aviation University.
