On April 13, 2022, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, Associate Professor of Criminal Law and Procedure Iryna Litvinova gave a lecture-presentation for students of the Faculty of Law.
At the beginning of the class, the lecturer revealed the history of the codified act, noting that in 1992 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution approving the Concept of Judicial Reform in Ukraine and establishing the first working group to develop a new CPC of Ukraine. It is from that moment that the history of the drafting of the new Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine begins. On April 13, 2012, the new version of the CPC of Ukraine was the result of many years of work of scholars, international legal experts and others who apply the rules of procedural law in practice.
The significance of this event is explained by the fact that 10 years ago the new CPC of Ukraine became a breakthrough to European standards, improving the legal system of the state and strengthening the protection of citizens' rights, but at the same time
During the lecture-presentation there was a fruitful discussion on the positive and negative manifestations in criminal proceedings in connection with the adoption in 2012 of the new CPC of Ukraine.
