On April 12, 2022, the Faculty of Law of the National Aviation University together with the Cyber Security Academy of Georgia "CSA" held a webinar "New Challenges and Threats in Cyberspace Against the Backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian War". The event was attended by scientific and pedagogical workers and students of the Faculty of Law, representatives of other leading educational institutions of Ukraine and Georgia. The scientific event was moderated by Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Trial Valeriia Filinovych. The webinar program covered the most pressing issues in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine. For example, Andro Gotsiridze, the founder of Cyber Security Studies and Education Center “CYSEC“, spoke in detail about the destructive cyber operations of the Kremlin. The speaker emphasized that Ukraine is quite successful in countering such malicious actions, which debunks the myth about the invincibility of Russian cyber weapons. President of the Internet Development Initiative “IDI”, co-founder of the Cyber Security Academy of Georgia “CSA” Vladimer Svanadze analyzed the legal aspects of Georgia's cybersecurity policy and cyberattacks. He focused the attention of those present on the most significant cyberattacks that have shaken the world in recent years, not bypassing the one that Ukraine suffered on February 23, 2022. At the end of the event, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Trial Valeriia Filinovych spoke about information and cyber hygiene as a method to survive in the conditions of the information war and provided recommendations that will help protect every citizen from manipulation and hostile propaganda. “It is important to maintain good relations between our two states because, after the start of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, we must jointly approach the formation and implementation of a program to counter cyber attacks in the context of threats to national and international security,” the colleagues from Georgia said in conclusion.
