On March 25, 2022, a scientific conference on "Intentional homicides under the criminal law of Ukraine and Poland" was held within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation between NAU and the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University (Poland, Lublin).
Dean of the Faculties of Law, Doctors of Science, Professors Iryna Sopilko and Anna Pshyborovska-Klymchak made welcoming speeches.
The conference was attended by colleagues from Lviv National University. Ivan Franko, teachers of the Department of Law and Administration of the Polish University, research and teaching staff, graduate students and students of the Faculty of Law of NAU.
Reports were made by the Faculty of Law: Head of the Department, Doctor of Law, Professor Sofia Lykhova, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Victoria Sysoeva, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Tetyana Lysko, Associate Professor Ph.D. Natalia Semchuk, senior lecturer Maria Alexandrova.
The speeches of the participants were devoted to comparative criminal law in the field of protection of human life and were mainly related to the discussion of new legislation, which was adopted after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Ukraine. In particular, the norms of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Marauding" of March 3, 2022 (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2117-20#Text) were analyzed, Of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine" of March 3, 2022 (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2114-20#Text) and the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Criminal Code" of the Code of Ukraine and other legislative acts of Ukraine on determining the circumstances that exclude criminal wrongdoing and ensure combat immunity in martial law "of March 15, 2022 (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2124- 20 # Text).
At the end of the scientific event, the citizens of Ukraine expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided by Poland to Ukraine during this difficult war, and Polish colleagues assured the audience of sincere friendship and readiness for scientific cooperation in the future.
