On March 14, 2022, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Faculty of Law took part in a seminar on the topic: “Ukraine belongs to Europe! Call for a comprehensive, concrete and effective plan for Ukraine's integration into the European Union".
The event was organized by the Cathedral of International Law and EU Law, Law College of the Kozminski University (Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego) in Poland, Conference of the Ambassador of the RK, Europe Direct Polska Team.
The goal is to develop an effective plan for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
Welcoming remarks were made by Jan Barch, Professor, Head of the Department of International Law and EU Law at the ALC Law College, former diplomat, Ambassador of the RK in Vienna (1995-2000), member of the European team and the Conference of Ambassadors of the Republic of Poland.
Jan Truszczynski, Head of the Polish Representation to the EU in the Second Half of the 1990s, chief negotiator ws. Poland's accession to the EU, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, member of the Europe Direct team and the Conference of the Ambassador of the RK, described the current principles and preconditions for Ukraine in the light of the criteria for EU membership.
Doctor of Economics Jaroslav Pietras, who participated in the negotiations on the association system and the accession treaty in the past, advised the Tymoshenko / Yushchenko European administration in 2007, was the Director General of the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU for 12 consecutive years, analyzed the possibilities of Ukraine in obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership.
At the end of the online meeting, the moderators invited guests to participate in the preparation of a collective monograph on the topic: "On the main international crimes and crimes of the Russian Federation in the aggressive war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.".
