On the 25th of in 2022, in cooperation with National Aviation University and the University of Warsaw (Poland), Head of the International Legal Communication Research Center, Vice-Rector’s Proxy for International Cooperation at the University of Warsaw, Attorney-at-law, PhD with habilitation (law), PhD (applied linguistics), Professor Joanna Osiejewicz conducted an educational training on a theme “The ECHR as a living instrument on the example of protecting “family life” for students of the Faculty of Law who study according to English program.
The speaker highlighted the peculiarities of the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as the impact of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights in the light of current trends in democratization and humanization. A detailed analysis of Friedrich Weissman’s concept of open texture was also presented on the example of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, in particular, in the following cases: Tyrer v. the United Kingdom, Marckx v. Belgium, Carner v. Austria, Kozak v. Poland. Particular attention was paid to the specifics of the judicial process in the Republic of Poland and the problems and prospects for the transformation of domestic legislation in accordance with the requirements of the European Union were outlined.
The end of the event was to acquaint students with the scientific and professional achievements of the scientist, practicing lawyer from the EU Joanna Osiejewicz, who studies international judicial means of implementation of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
