In the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation between the National Aviation University and the Union of Lawyers (Republic of Georgia), on December 17, 2021 at the Faculty of Law held a scientific and practical round table on "Criminal and criminal procedural law: law enforcement."
Words of congratulations to the participants of the event were heard from the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ph.D., Professor Irina Sopilko, Chairman of the Union of Lawyers Zurab Chkoni, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Ph.D., Professor Sofia Lykhova.
The scientific community discussed theoretical and practical issues of liability for trafficking in human beings under the criminal law of Ukraine and Georgia, as today this crime has acquired transnational significance, which requires joint efforts of scientists and practitioners from different countries.
Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Tetyana Lysko in the report "Trafficking in Human Beings" (Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) "revealed the criminal-legal characteristics of the criminal offense. Adam Maharadze, Ph.D., Professor, Professor of Shota Rustaveli University, spoke on a similar topic, but under Georgian law.
Professor of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, Ph.D. In his report on "Social Aspects of Human Trafficking and Public Policy", Kakha Tsikarishvili revealed the problems of Georgian law enforcement agencies in combating human trafficking. Mykhailo Akimov, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, provoked an active discussion among the participants.
Carrying out joint scientific events between representatives of different countries is, of course, a useful and interesting experience that enriches with new knowledge and promotes the scientific development of cooperation in the field of science.
