As part of the celebration of the All-Ukrainian Week of Law, December 8, 2021 for second-year students majoring in "Law Enforcement" famous Ukrainian lawyer, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Sciences Of Ukraine, a member of the High Council of Justice Viktor Hryshchuk held a lecture on "Problems of justice reform in Ukraine."
The professor noted that there are significant problems with the formation of the High Council of Justice, which, in turn, affects the formation of the judiciary. "Currently, due to the inefficient work of this body, there is a shortage of qualified personnel in the courts of Ukraine," he said.
Viktor Hryshchuk also told the students about the procedure for appointing judges to office, noting that candidates undergo a complex evaluation, which consists of 6 stages. In his opinion, only 2-3 stages are enough to establish professional suitability for the position of a judge. He considered the prospects for the introduction of e-court and explained the principles of its operation.
Meetings of students with outstanding scholars-practitioners are extremely important, because they allow students to navigate in modern problems of legal science and practice.
