On December 7, 2021, a well-known Ukrainian lawyer, Candidate of Law, who in April-May 2016 served as Prosecutor General of Ukraine and in the period 2016-2019 held the position of First Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Sevruk held a webinar for students of the Faculty of Law "Reforming the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine".
Yuriy Hryhorovych spoke about the complex processes of reforming the prosecutor's office of Ukraine and mistakes that need to be corrected to eliminate the negative consequences, analyzed the functions, role, tasks of the prosecutor's office in ensuring the rule of law. He shared his own experience as a prosecutor, told about his career, as well as about the peculiarities of employment of prosecutors of law graduates at different times, pointing out the current challenges of difficult and responsible work of the prosecutor.
Students received answers to questions about the performance of functions by the prosecutor's office in modern conditions, financial incentives for the prosecutor and guarantees of his independence. Changes in the legislation on the prosecutor's office and political influence on measures to reform it were discussed with interest.
Concluding the report, Yuriy Sevruk wished the young generation to gain deep knowledge for successful work as a prosecutor in the future.
