On December 3, 2020 in the training laboratory of methodological support of the educational process of the Faculty of Law Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Sofia Likhova and Doctor of Law, Senior Researcher, Chief Researcher of the Security Service of Ukraine : history of creation and prospects of Ukraine's membership ".
Today, Ukraine is a Partner country whose units are involved in the Alliance's main operations and missions, NATO's response force, including:
- the composition of the Multinational Force in Kosovo (40 Ukrainian peacekeepers are on combat duty);
- NATO's Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan - currently has 12 national staff members from Ukraine. In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, 9 servicemen were temporarily returned to Ukraine;
- NATO operation "Active Efforts", since October 2016 - "Sea Guard" Sea Guardian (by constantly monitoring the surface situation in the Black Sea and exchanging information between the National Contact Point of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Odessa) and the headquarters of the operation (NATO Naval Command Headquarters, Northwood, UK).
In 2019, the Alliance invited Ukraine to continue cooperation by granting our country the status of a potential operational partner of the NATO Mission in Iraq. In addition, the possibility of involving Ukrainian servicemen as instructors in the framework of the NATO Mission in Iraq to train Iraqi Armed Forces servicemen is being discussed, "said Sofia Likhova, opening the event.
The exhibition presents textbooks, manuals, monographs and periodicals on the founding and activities of NATO, as well as Ukraine's place in this international organization. During the event, Boris Leonov highlighted the main activities and tasks of the Alliance, the processes of transformation and expansion of this military-political alliance.
The meeting ended with a representative of the Security Service of Ukraine Research Institute discussing the draft law on abolishing the non-aligned status of the Ukrainian state, restoring Ukraine's NATO membership and implementing modern measures to prevent crises, manage conflicts and stabilize the post-crisis situation.
