On November 22, 2021, in cooperation with external stakeholders, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law organized a meeting of master's students with a lieutenant colonel of justice, an officer of the Department for Representation in Jurisdictions and Contractual Work of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This event was held in order to acquaint law students with the practical aspects of legal activity in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to consolidate the theoretical knowledge acquired during the study of the discipline "Rule of Law".
Maksym Tyutyun focused the students' attention on the peculiarities of legal work in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, its significance in the modern conditions of development of the rule of law and democratic civil society. Issues related to the observance of the rights and freedoms of servicemen, the influence of civil society on the reform and management of the security sector, gender equality, as well as the external communication of the Ukrainian army were also discussed. The participants were interested in issues related to the protection of human rights in armed conflict and the implementation of the rule of law as a general principle of post-conflict settlement for Ukraine.
The meeting with a practicing lawyer helped not only to consolidate a fuller understanding of the concept of the rule of law, but also to open a new multifaceted vision of legal activity in the modern world.
