On November 23, 2021, the Faculty of Law, together with a representative of the Solomenskaya District State Administration in the city of Kiev, held a legal lecture on the topic "Interaction of public councils and the community" for 1st year students.
Olena Parfenova, deputy chairman of the public council at the Solomensky district in the city of Kiev, of the state administration, communicating with freshmen via videoconference, revealed the interaction of public councils and the community in this area and analyzed the social functions of public councils: social initiation, social lobbying, public expertise, a media platform. " The speaker drew the attention of young people to the peculiarities of reforming local authorities, the implementation of social functions that affect the solution of problems of social stability in the region, and also gave specific examples of interaction with the Kiev City State Administration in this direction.
The issues covered by Elena Parfenova aroused the interest of future lawyers. This is evidenced by the large number of questions posed to the representative of local authorities regarding the implementation of the state internal social policy in the region in the context of a pandemic. “Public councils accumulate decisions of the highest executive bodies and bring them to the community. This is our cooperation and interaction with the public, ”the speaker noted.
Discussion of such urgent social problems allowed students to learn more about such an institution of the state as public councils, which are an advisory body and function on an electoral basis for two years, their power-public interaction with communities, cooperation with executive authorities.
Concluding the meeting, Elena Igorevna invited the students to attend the meeting of the public council and in the future to plan the internship in the departments of the Solomenskaya district state administration in Kiev.
