On November 18, 2021, within the framework of a cooperation agreement, Valeriia Filinovych, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Process of the Faculty of Law, held an online open lecture for students of the Faculty of Law of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University on the topic “Intellectual property law as the basis for the existence of the rights of authors and inventors ".
“It is impossible to imagine modern society without the use of objects of intellectual property law in various fields of activity. Today, no one has any objections to the thesis that the organization of an effective system of law enforcement in the process of creating and using objects of intellectual property has a direct impact on the development of national scientific and technological, and technical spheres of state life, increasing their investment image, introducing favorable innovative opportunities ", Valeriia Filinovych noted at the beginning of the lesson.
The content of the lecture was based on modern approaches to understanding the concept and content of intellectual property. Students were familiarized with the concept of intellectual property, copyright and industrial property law, the content of subjective copyright, the concept, and functions of related rights, their objects, and subjects, types of objects of industrial property law, methods of protecting intellectual property rights, as well as the role of the World Intellectual Property Organization in the mechanism for protecting the rights of patent owners.
The lesson was accompanied by a variety of multimedia presentation material, which in turn allowed Valeriia Filinovych to apply methodological techniques of storytelling, demonstration, characteristics, explanations, commenting, create a creative working atmosphere and keep the listeners' steady attention throughout the lecture.
