On November 17, 2021, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law held a round table with the participation of students of secondary schools in Kyiv and the regions of Ukraine on "Information and legal culture of youth in the context of digitalization".
Dean of the Faculty Iryna Sopilko greeted the participants and wished them fruitful work. "Our main task is to help young people choose a profession so that they understand not only its content, but also feel their potential, mentality and inner world, which will allow them to enjoy their chosen profession in the future, be successful and useful to society," she said. dean.
The round table was attended by scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, students of the Faculty of Law, high school students of Kyiv: Gymnasium № 154, Specialized School № 260 with in-depth study of Ukrainian language and literature, Specialized School № 138 with in-depth study of natural sciences, 71 Specialized School № with in-depth study of English, as well as regions of Ukraine: law and pedagogical lyceums with. Stavyshche, Kyiv region, Educational complex № 3, Yahotyn, Kyiv region, secondary school of I-III degrees in the village of Yuzhne of the Parish Village Council of the Chernihiv Region, M. Ocheret Humanitarian Gymnasium № 23 of the city of Zhytomyr.
The participants discussed the importance of scientific and legal information in today's conditions, the role of information and legal culture of young people in the context of digitalization, the rules of ethical behavior of the younger generation in cyberspace.
The head of the department Ivan Borodin told the students about the main legal professions and the role of legal information in legal activities. Associate Professor Olena Makeyeva provided information about the Faculty of Law, its structure and benefits of study, as well as demonstrated a video about educational programs, specialties and conditions of admission to higher education.
Sofia Tkachuk, Chair of the Student Council, and Victoria Palamarchuk, a member of the Student Council, told the high school students about the diversity of student life, engaging the audience with a presentation about interesting events for law students.
Meetings with prospective entrants in this format help to form in the younger generation an information and legal culture, which is the key to their successful adaptation to life in the digital society.
