On October 13, 2021, Iryna Varava, a senior lecturer at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, held a debate with high school students on the topic “Human protection in the rule of law: mechanisms for protection of rights” at the Stavyshche educational complex “General school of I-III degrees - pedagogical lyceum №1” "People in the context of Ukraine's European integration."
"A person, his life and health, honor and dignity, inviolability and security are recognized in Ukraine as the highest social value. Human rights and freedoms and their guarantees determine the content and direction of the state, and the establishment and protection of human rights and freedoms is its main duty, "said Irina Varava in her introductory speech.
By expressing interest and asking questions during the career guidance event, students deepened their knowledge of the institution of human and civil rights, the appointment and functions of the ombudsman in Parliament, the European Court of Human Rights, the system of protection of human rights and freedo.
Summing up the dispute, high school students noted that the Constitution of Ukraine guarantees citizens an equal amount of rights, which is their guarantee against oppression of the state, officials, discrimination by state institutions of power.
