In pursuance of the Plan of educational work of the Faculty of Law, on October 19, 2021 a video conference was held for residents of the dormitory №13 of the NAU Campus with the participation of the Head of Civil Protection, Fire, Man-Made and Environmental Safety - Eduard Drach on "Fire Safety student dormitories".
"The ability to act correctly and quickly in the event of an emergency is extremely important, because according to statistics, most tragedies occur due to lack of firefighting knowledge on the use of fire extinguishers and careless attitude to safety measures in case of fire.
For non-resident students, such as the vast majority at the National Aviation University, the dormitory is a second home. That is why for the university management the creation of comfortable and safe living conditions for students is a priority. This is the purpose of the fire safety system in all student dormitories, as well as to conduct annual trainings, "said Eduard Drach during his introductory speech.
The Head of the Department of Civil Protection, Fire, Technogenic and Environmental Safety of NAU revealed the main provisions of the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of 15.08.2016 № 974 "On approval of Fire Safety Rules for educational institutions of Ukraine", the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of 26.12.2017 № 1669 Regulations on the organization of work on labor protection and safety of life of participants of the educational process in institutions and educational establishments". It is noted that fire safety is ensured by carrying out organizational measures and technical means aimed at preventing fires, ensuring human safety, reducing possible property losses and reducing negative environmental consequences in case of their occurrence, creating conditions for successful firefighting. Eduard Drach by showing videos gave negative examples and consequences of fires, reminded the rules of using technical means of fire protection.
Summing up the training, the head of the Department of Civil Protection, Fire, Man-Made and Environmental Safety noted that ignorance of the basic safety rules creates fire risks even if the room is equipped with all necessary protection systems. Therefore, the primary task of the participants of the educational process is to comply with these rules and take measures to prevent fires on the territory of the University and the Campus.
