On the 27th of April in 2021 research-teaching staff of the Faculty of Law of NAU Doctor of Juridical Sciences, Professor Sofiia Lykhova, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Ustynova, and Candidate of Juridical Sciences Oksana Myronets to implement the Strategic Development Plan of the faculty within the project of American Councils for International Education “Academic Integrity and Education Quality Initiative” participated in a training webinar “How to create a center for quality assurance – the experience of the University of Waterloo”.
The keynote speaker of the webinar was Amanda McKenzie, who is M.A., a member of the ICAI Board of Directors, Director of Quality Assurance (Academic Programs) at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada). She shared her professional experience in quality assurance and academic integrity.
During the training, representatives of the Faculty of Law of NAU received information on current world practices to ensure the quality of education and academic integrity, including the functions and activities of the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada), as well as experience in implementing educational standards in Ontario and their impact on functioning Education Quality Assurance Center. The issues of academic fraud, teachers' approaches to academic integrity, and the problem of combating academic dishonesty in the context of ensuring the quality of education provoked active discussion and lively discussion of the participants of the event.
Participation in the webinar marked the beginning of a series of ongoing activities on this theme, designed by the American Council on International Education.
