On November 9, 2020, on the occasion of the International Day for the Prevention of Environmental Exploitation during War and Armed Conflict, a meeting of the Scientific Society of Students and Postgraduates of the Faculty of Law of NAU was held.
The purpose of this event was to discuss topical issues of environmental protection, which are now acute not only for Ukraine, but also gaining globalscale. After all, during war or armed conflict, nature always becomes an invisible victim of events, and the damage that hasl on gaffected the state of ecosystems and natural resources often goes beyond national territories and affects the lives of many generations.
During the meeting, members ofthe Scientific Society paid special attention to the activities of international organizations to protect nature from the harmful effects of hostilities, as well as legal issue sin the field of environmental protection and ways to over come environmental consequences as a result of armed conflict and destruction in eastern Ukraine.
The speech of each participant testified to thein different atitude to the global issue of strengthening peace, abandoning the senseless damage to the environment in pursuit of military goals and reminded every one of the fragility of nature, thene ed to preserve it for future life, prosperity and security.
