12 December, 2012 for students and teachers Law Institute of NAU was held a meeting with the managing partner of the Office of the Ius Europae, expert of the Chamber business of city Kielce, a lawyer of the parliamentary committees, PhD Bartosz Mendykom. During the meeting they discussed the features of the patent system of European Union and direction of its reform.
Particular attention during the meeting rapporteur paid to the current issues acquisition of rights to inventions in the EU and EU member states, the practical aspects of applying the criteria of patentability inventions competent authorities and courts in the EU, in particular, the interpretation of such terms of legal protection of inventions as "compliance of morals of society." Separately Bartosz Mendyk focused hia attention on trends of development of court practice about the litigation concerning patent affairs at the EU level and the main tasks that should be made by the Member States in connection with the implementation of the reform of the patent system of EU. During the meeting it was shown in the features of the enforcement practices of Poland in the field of patent law relations. Holding of this meeting provided an opportunity to the participants to deepen their knowledge in the field of patent law and the acquisition of rights of inventions in the EU and to form an idea of the practice of the European Patent Office and the courts of the EU in this area.
