On April 29, 2020 at the Faculty of Law in a video conference the Department of Theory and History of State and Law held a round table on "Legal consciousness and legal culture as the basis of civil society." The event was attended by members of the circle "Lawyer", research and teaching staff, first-year students.
Dean Iryna Sopilko addressed the audience with an introductory speech, congratulating the participants of the scientific meeting and wishing everyone fruitful cooperation. Natalia Pilhun, the head of the Pravoznavets circle, revealed the role and value of legal consciousness and legal culture in the formation of civil society.
Participants of the circle Victoria Palamarchuk, Maria Dyachyshyn, Mykhailo Moldovan were involved in the speeches, who revealed the influence of legal consciousness on the formation of civil society. Yulia Slavita drew attention to the level of legal culture of society as a guarantee of building the rule of law. Vladislava Protsko presented the reasons for the manifestation of legal nihilism in society.
Yulia Verbinets, a student of the English-speaking group, spoke about the problems of raising the level of legal culture in modern Ukrainian society. Student Yakiv Baranovsky clarified the value and significance of a lawyer's professional culture, emphasizing that the legal activity of a lawyer-practitioner contributes to the development of a cultural style of his professional behavior.
Summing up, it was noted that the Faculty of Law pays great attention to the formation of future lawyers of a high level of legal culture, the formation of their lawful behavior. Teachers and students have identified promising areas of work to improve the legal culture of youth, which will contribute to the formation of civil society in Ukraine.
