On December 12, 2019, the Faculty of Law held an Open Day.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law Irina Sopilko advised the entrants on the features of the admission and the conditions of study at the faculty, the main directions in which the law students are trained, the possibilities of studying at the English language project.
Director of the Center for Pre-Professional Training Tatiana Petrovskaya informed high school students about various programs for student youth, which organizes the Educational-Scientific Institute of Innovative Educational Technologies, in particular, "Program for Gifted Youth", student Olympiads, summer schools and preparatory courses.
After receiving the information, everyone was invited to the Courtroom, where students, led by Professor of the Department of Economic, Air and Space Law, Valentina Kozyreva, held court debates on economic matters, in which they demonstrated their skills and acquired knowledge.
After the court session, the entrants were able to feel like criminologists in the educational and forensic laboratory. The head of the forensic laboratory Lilia Grekova introduced the entrants to the peculiarities of the use of forensic techniques in the investigation of criminal offenses. Law students Alona Palamarchuk, Anna Popelnukh, and Anastasia Olenyuk told high school students about fingerprinting, a department of forensic technology that studies peculiarities of papillary patterns in the context of crime investigations.
Artem Chertkov, a researcher at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Cyber Security, Computer and Software Engineering, took part in the event. He demonstrated to the students an unmanned aerial vehicle, created his own and told about the prospects of its use in law enforcement activities.
At the end of the event, the faculty and students of the Faculty of Law wished the students success in the preparation of EIT and perseverance in achieving the dreamed one.
