On December 17, 2019, the Law Faculty hosted the most traditional competition "The smartest freshman - 2019".
The competition consisted of three rounds, which were attended by 12 freshmen, namely: Maria Dyachyshyn (PR-101), Victoria Palamarchuk (PR-101), Denis Shapoval (PR-101), Victoria Kohtyuk (PR-103), Vladislav Melanich (PR-103), Yulia Slavita (PR-103), Kateryna Storozhik (PR-103), Bogdan Vityuk (PR-104), Bogdan Litvinchuk (PR-104), Yegor Mikov (PR-104), Mykola Govorun (PR) -105), Victoria Komanets'ka (PR-106).
The students were evaluated by a competent jury consisting of: Irina Sopilko - Dean of the Law Faculty, Doctor of Science, Professor; Rostislav Kalyuzhny - Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty, Doctor of Law, Professor; Vadim Vyshnovetsky - Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty, Candidate of Science in Economics, Associate Professor; Alice Logvinenko - responsible person for organizational work with students, senior lecturer of the department of criminal law and process; Ivan Borodin - Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Doctor of Sciences (Economics), Professor; Yuriy Pivovar - Head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Ph.D., Professor; Svetlana Golovko - Candidate of Sciences (Economics), Associate Professor, Department of Theory and History of State and Law; Elena Makeeva - PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Theory and History of State and Law.
In the first round, the jury evaluated students' knowledge of theory and history of state and law, constitutional law, history of Ukraine, organization of judicial and law enforcement bodies, through a variational survey. According to the results of Round I, only 7 freshmen (Denis Shapoval, Victoria Kohtyuk, Bogdan Vityuk, Bogdan Litvinchuk, Yegor Mikov, Mykola Govorun, Victoria Komanetska) got into the second round, and only 3 of them (Denis Shapoval, Yegor Mikov, Victoria Kohtyuk got to the finals) who in the third decisive round gave express answers to the questions in the categories "Secret", "Ukrainian and foreign literature", "Ukrainian language".
In the fierce struggle they won: first place - Denis Shapoval (group PR-101), second place - Yegor Mikov (group PR-104), third place - Victoria Kohtyuk (group PR-103).
