On December 13, 2019 the Department of Criminal Law and Process of the Faculty of Law conducted a scientific and practical seminar on the topic: "Problematic issues of criminal liability".
Representatives of institutions of higher education and state and public organizations, including: Natalia Yarmysh – senior lecturer in the training of prosecutors in law enforcement supervision in criminal proceedings of the national academy of the prosecutor's office of Ukraine, doctor of law, professor; Boris Leonov – SBU chief scientist, doctor of laws, senior research fellow; Makarch Marchuk – scientific advisor to the constitutional court of Ukraine, candidate of law, associate professor and well-known lawyers: Oleksandra Yanchuk – lawyer, director of Bonum Law Firm, associate professor; Andriy Bakhmach – lawyer, managing partner of Bakhmach and Partners Law Firm; Oleksandr Rastorguev and Yuri Stankevich – students of the Faculty of Law; Diana Maistro, Victoria Kovaleva, Denis Dobrovolsky are students of the Masters of Law Faculty.
During the meeting the issues of criminal law of Ukraine were discussed, namely: problems of criminal liability for tax evasion in the context of Ukraine's accession to the international system of automated exchange of tax information, abuse of influence as a criminal-legal problem, some aspects of juvenile criminal responsibility, life imprisonment in Ukraine and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights on this punishment and the particular implementation of the Convention against llegal acts of international civil aviation.
Following the results of the scientific-practical seminar, the right proposals for the improvement of the criminal law norms were offered, as well as the participants of the seminar decided to publish scientific articles on the topics of their speeches in the professional journal "Legal Herald: Air and Space Law".
