On December 12, 2019, in honor of All-Ukrainian Law Week, senior lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Liudmyla Shapenko together with students of the 1st year of the Faculty of Law Maria Dyachyshyn and Larisa Pavlovich held competition «Legal Olympus» among the students of the senior grades of secondary school № 300 in Kyiv.
The event was aimed at consolidating knowledge about rights, freedoms, human and citizen responsibilities, shaping the legal outlook and legal culture, as well as raising awareness of the value of law and its role in the formation of the rule of law to the younger generation.
The competition was held in three rounds, in each of which the students had to demonstrate their knowledge of law and history of state formation in Ukraine. The most interesting was the third round, in which the finalists had the opportunity to make a speech on the topic "Ukraine: Challenges of Today" and to describe their own view on the further development of Ukraine as a rule of law in the light of contemporary changes.
At the end of the meeting, the smartest participants were rewarded with certificates and valuable gifts, and the teachers were thanked for their daily hard work in preparing competent, independent, socially active and responsible youth.
