On October 24, 2019, Assistant Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Olena Makeieva conducted an interactive course for students of the 1st year of the course "Legal Deontology" in the form of an educational forum on the topic: "Modern tendencies of higher legal education in Ukraine and abroad".
At the Faculty of Law, great attention is paid to the introduction of innovative teaching methods in the educational process, since the important goals of legal education is to develop in students the system of competences necessary for successful professional activity.
The future lawyers modeled an interesting and informative educational discussion (acted as representatives of higher education institutions from Ukraine, USA, UK, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Poland, MESU experts, applicants for higher education, public authorities).
During the session, the legislation of Ukraine on higher education was analyzed, new state standards of higher legal education, in particular, competencies for applicants of specialty 081 "Law", the draft law "On Legal Education and General Access to the Legal Profession" and outlined proposals for improvement legislation on legal education in Ukraine and the acquisition of sound international experience.
Conducting such classes contributes to the formation of students' cognitive interest in educational activities, critical thinking, ability to work as a team and take part in discussions.
