On October 18th, 2019 students of academic groups PR-403 and PR-404 of the Juridical faculty together with the mentor Iryna Tolkachova visited famous monuments of Kyiv.
During the excursion students learned about course of life and contribution to the history of Ukraine of a genius poetess, playwright, translator, public figure –Lesya Ukrainka. The mentor emphasized that unvalued importance of the creative work of Lesya Ukrainka in the history of Ukrainian literature was that she had enriched Ukrainian poetry. At the breaking point of ХІХ-ХХ centuries Lesya Ukrainka became in the vanguard of creative powers that brought Ukrainian literature to the wide arena of world literature.
The monument “Eternal Kyiv” is dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian military, political and state figure – hetman Ivan Mazepa. Students learned that the monument symbolized patronage activity of the hetman. Around the globe, from which a dove is raising, there are bás-reliefs of cathedrals and churches, built or restored at the expense of the hetman. The mentor told students about attempt of Ivan Mazepa to implement his military and political project for the purpose of withdrawal from the protectorate of Muscovy and creation of the independent state on Ukrainian lands.
Such events play an important role in the patriotic upbringing of young generation.
