October 11, 2019, Ganna Grabovska, associate professor of the Department of Civil Law and Process of the Faculty of Law, together with the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Svyatoshinsky DSA in Kyiv, held a lecture-debate for senior pupils of secondary school No. 35 in Kyiv on the topic: «Rights and obligations of a human and a citizen».
The purpose of the event is to increase the level of legal culture of schoolchildren, to identify the level of knowledge of their rights and obligations, to educate children in respect of their own personality and the rights of others.
At the beginning of the meeting, pupils focused on the importance of law in everyone’s life and the relevance of improvement in this sphere, in particular, the implementation of the rights of minors.
Ganna Grabovskaya focused the attention of pupils on the fundamental rights and obligations of children, which were enshrined in the UN Convention and implemented in national legislation. A presentation was prepared on the rights and obligations of minors that helped pupils to perceive information and practically test their knowledge of law by participating in a legal quiz.
As a result of the meeting, proposals were drawn up on a plan for further cooperation of the Faculty of Law with the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Svyatoshinsky DSA in Kyiv.
