On September 19, 2019, students of the academic groups PR-101 and PR-105, accompanied by mentor Elena Makeіeva, made an excursion to the Park of Partisan Glory.
In Ukraine, September 22 is the Day of Guerrilla Glory, and this day is considered the beginning of the underground-guerrilla movement in our country.
During the excursion, students learned that this day honors the exploits of guerrillas and underground soldiers during World War II. The actions of guerrilla units and underground organizations during World War II inflicted irreparable losses on the enemy's combat capability and brought the Day of Victory over the Nazis and their allies closer. The first detachments of guerrillas appeared in Ukraine in the fall of 1941 under Chernihiv and Sumy, and the masses of the guerrilla movement only gained mass from the end of 1942. During the event, students honored the memory of the fallen guerrillas.
Such events form a cognitive interest in Ukraine's historical past and an active civic position of the younger generation.
