On June 20, 2019, students of the 1 st year of the Faculty of Law, led by the assistant of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Liudmyla Shapenko, visited the High Council of Justice, as part of conducting professional studying practice.
During the excursion, the first-year students were able to communicate with the head of the information and communication department of the secretariat of the High Council of Justice, the coordinator of the working group of the Communications Committee of the justice system Oksana Lysenko, who spoke about the legislative stories on the status, powers, the way of forming the High Council of Justice, and also outlined peculiarities of the activity of this collegial body, in particular, in the aspect of ensuring the independence of the judiciary, increasing its authority, implementation disciplinary proceedings, etc.
For the attention of visitors, the film "In the name of an independent and fair court" was presented, the review of which allowed future lawyers to learn about the history of the development of this legal institution, the main stages of judicial reform launched in 2016, as well as to understand the key changes in the work of the body under conditions of Constitutional and legal modernization of the judicial system.
The final stage of the student's acquaintance with the collegiate, independent constitutional body of state power and judicial administration was the attendance of the session of the High Council of Justice, which considered the issue of considering a complaint against the decision of the Qualification-Disciplinary Commission of prosecutors on the closure of disciplinary proceedings.
