On May 14, 2019, students of the academic group PR-402 of the Faculty of Law, accompanied by mentor Yuri Korneev, visited the Franko Academic Theater in Kiev, where they watched the performance “Pygmalion”.
The play tells about the London phonetics professor Henry Higgins, who made a bet with his friend, Colonel Pickering. The title of the play is an ironic illusion on the ancient myth of the sculptor Pygmalion, who created such a perfect statue of a girl that the goddess Aphrodite agreed, at the request of Pygmalion, who is in love with the image he created, to revive the statue.
The originality, wit and democratic spirit of the play, a reflection of deep and acute social problems ensured its popularity in many countries.
