On May 30, 2019, students of the PR-101 Academic group of Faculty of Law, led by a mentor Liudmyla Shapenko visited the monument to Viacheslav Chornovil, a prominent politician, publicist, literary critic, leader of the Ukrainian national-democratic liberation movement of the late 80's and 90's.
ПDuring the event, the students, referring to the pages of history, mentioned the active work of Viacheslav Chornovil not only as a prominent politician, a leader of the resistance movement against the national discrimination of the Ukrainian people, but also as the organizer of the movement of the Sixtiers and dissidents, the founder of the underground Ukrainian newspaper "Ukrainian Bulletin" as well as one of the initiators of the creation of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union.
At the end of the excursion, all attenders noticed the significant contribution of the indefatigable fighter to preserving the spirituality, language and culture of Ukrainians, as well as his invaluable role in the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Ukraine, the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine and the revival of Ukraine as a nation.
