On May 20, 2019, a regular meeting of the Center for Mediation was held, during which the theme "Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation" and "Day of Slavic Literature and Culture" were discussed.
The student of the PR-401 group, Oleksandr Kondzedailo, said that on May 8 and 9 in Ukraine, as well as in the world, Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation is celebrated. These days are devoted to honoring the memory of more than 80 million people, whose life was torn up by world-wide violence, people of all races and nations, men and women, soldiers and civilians, small children and the old - all the dead and all those who survived and passed through all the circles of the Hell of the Second World War. The student noted that for today the wishes of peace for Ukraine are the most important, he stressed that the inexhaustible human memory of the huge victims of the Second World War, about thousands of damaged cities and tens of thousands of burnt villages once again warns the world against the danger of repeating this terrible catastrophe.
Kirilo Serbin, student of the group PR-302, said in his speech that on May 24 Ukraine celebrates the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, along with all other Slavic nations. The feast is established in accordance with the Presidential Decree of September 17, 2004, on the day of commemoration of the holy Apostles Cyril and Methodius - the Enlightenment, who played a prominent role in the development and formation of Slavic poetry and culture, patrons of Europe. They translated Slavic liturgical books, they themselves wrote original works, preached Orthodoxy, opened schools at churches, prepared students, created the Slavic alphabet, and translated into the Church Slavonic (Old Belonging) Gospel language.
Such events form a sense of patriotism, national consciousness of the modern young generation and a cognitive interest in the historical past of Ukraine.
