During March-April 2019, students of the academic group PR-401 led by mentor Olena Makeieva visited the historical places of Kiev: a unique monument of Kievan Rus - "Golden Gate" and a monument to Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko.
These famous historical buildings are located In the historic part of Kiev, where most of the sights of history and architecture are concentrated. During the event, the students learned that the Golden Gate, known as the main, the solemn gate of ancient Kiev, is one of the symbols of Kiev, the oldest preserved Rus defensive structure, the main entrance to ancient Kiev. Students admired the beauty of the monument to Yaroslav the Wise, were impressed with grandeur, power and at the same time the beauty of the building.
Also, future lawyers visited a monument to the Ukrainian composer, folklorist, founder of the national classical music school Mykola Lysenko, which was built on the Theater Square. During the excursion, the students learned that the monument was opened in 1965, and its authors are the sculptor Olexander Kovalev and the architect Vasyl Gnezdilov. The artist's bronze figure is set on a rectangular pedestal made of gray granite, with the height about 7 meters. The composer, slightly raised in the conductor's gesture with his right hand as if listening to the sounds of music. During the event, the students mentioned the famous works of the composer, which include the music of the hymns "Prayer for Ukraine" and "The Eternal Revolutionary", the works of "Taras Bulba", "Natalka Poltavka", "Aeneid", "Nich Yaka Misyachna".
Through these events, students have an opportunity to get deeper into the historical past of Ukraine, to form a national consciousness and aesthetic culture.
