On March 6, 2019, a meeting of students with the president of the NGO “La Strada - Ukraine” Olga Kalashnik was held in the Scientific and Technical Library of NAU.
Students of the Faculty of Law took an active part in this event.
During the meeting, issues of “gender”, “gender equality” and “gender policy of the state” were considered, special attention was focused on the importance of gender equality as one of the hallmarks of a legal state, the state of observance of women's rights in Ukraine and the factors that need to be considered to establish gender equality in Ukrainian society.
At the end of the event, the participants came to the conclusion that it is necessary to inform women about the ways and forms of protecting the violated rights that they have in the context of gender equality, to publicize cases of rights violations based on gender, and to actively combat them. In turn, the state is obliged to ensure the observance of women's rights in all spheres of society.
At the end of the meeting, students also familiarized themselves with the directions and specifics of the activities of the public international human rights organization La Strada-Ukraine.
