On February 11, 2019, the Faculty of Law held a meeting of the Center for Mediation devoted to the tragic pages of Ukrainian history: the Day of Unification of Ukraine (100th anniversary) and the Memorial Day of the Kruty Heroes.
Alyona Vorozhka, a student of the PR-103 group during a speech on the topic "The Day of Unification of Ukraine", which is celebrated on January 22, spoke about the historical past of our state, the significance of the past for contemporary history. The student noted that this holiday was also established in honor of the proclamation of the First Independence of Ukraine and the Act of the Unification of the UNR and the ZUNR (independence was proclaimed by the IV Universal of the Ukrainian Central Rada in 1918), and in the same year, on the same day in Sofia Square in Kyiv, the official unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic was held.
A student of the PR-204 group Anton Bykov told about the Memorial Day of the Kruty Heroes, which became a symbol of the heroism and self-sacrifice of the young generation in the struggle for independence for the Ukrainian people. In his speech, he emphasized that the Battle of Kruty confirmed the readiness of the youth to defend the ideals of the Ukrainian revolution and became a symbol of national honor, since more than 100 years have passed since that time, and history, unfortunately, has been repeated: once again, the youth defend our independence, territorial integrity, giving up the most expensive - their lifes.
Events of patriotic character form national consciousness and cognitive interest in the historical past of our state in the young generation.
