On December 05, 2018, in the educational laboratory of the methodological support of the educational process ESLI, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Process Lykhova Sophia, and Doctor of Law Senior Researcher, Chief Scientist of the Security Service of Ukraine Leonov Borys was held a thematic exhibition on "NATO: the history of creation and prospects of Ukraine's membership".
The urgency of this event is due to the fact that Ukraine remains the only partner country that participates in four of the five NATO-led operations. Under the new conditions of non-alignment, Ukraine continues to fulfill its obligations to the world community on peacekeeping, regional and global security in its entirety. The meaningful core remained unchanged, aimed at achieving Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic standards of democratic governance, rule of law, and comprehensive security sector reform in line with the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with textbooks, manuals, monographs, periodicals related to the founding and activities of NATO, as well as the place of Ukraine in this international organization.
During the event, there was fruitful discussion about the importance of the bill on the abolition of the non-aligned status of the Ukrainian state and on the restoration of Ukraine's membership in NATO.
