On April 12th, 2012 in the Legal Institute the Department of Air, Space and Environmental Law held the round table on the theme “Astronautics and the Future of Humanity”, dedicated to the Worldwide Day of Aviation and Astronautics and the Day of Workers of Rocket and Space Industry of Ukraine.
The Director of the Legal Institute Iryna Sopilko spoke with opening address and noted that exactly Ukrainian constructors, scientists and researchers made a significant contribution to the global space science and the Ukrainian enterprises still place the leading positions in the world astronautics. Nataliya Malysheva (D.Sc. (Law), professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Deputy Director of the International Centre of Space Law), Bronislav Lapidus (the Director of the Kiev branch of the National Centre of Aerospace Education of Youth named after O. Makarova) took part in this round table. Professorial and teacher’s staff and students of the Legal Institute were also involved in the discussion. There discussed the history development of astronautics in Ukraine, the role of space technology in solving global problems of humanity, special features of development of national space legislations, contribution of the Ukrainian scientists in the development of astronautics, reality and prospects of space tourism development. Ukraine is and will be the active participant of the process of implementation of space programs in Europe and in the whole world.
