Pursuant to the letter of Deputy Chairman of Solomenskiy district in the city of Kiev State Administration of 10.12.2015 №108-21428 / 01 and order the pro-rector "On strengthening students' awareness on the implementation of the decentralization mechanism in Ukraine" dated December 15, 2015 №146 / Roses, November 22, 2016 teachers of the department of economic, air and space Law Teaching and research Institute of Legal Bezzubova Dmitry and Evgeny Eryashovim with students of 1st and 4th year students held a lecture-debate on the theme "Prospects for decentralization in the aspect of the European choice of Ukraine."
The goal - an explanation of the students the prospects opening up in connection with the decentralization in Ukraine and discuss its role in strengthening democracy and ensuring democracy in the state. During the debate with the students discussed the problems of scientific, practical, legal approaches to the decentralization of power in Ukraine, highlighted the expected risks in the process of local government reform. During his speech, Dmitry Bezzubov said that decentralization aims at improving the efficiency of the government machinery and the revitalization of regional development on the principles of democracy, and the performance of such effectiveness and activation is complete ensuring the rights and legal interests and responsibilities of the local population, structured in municipal and regional groups as well as the bodies of territorial self-organization. At the end of the event the participants concluded that the result of the decentralization of power reform in Ukraine should be the formation of a new democratic model of governance focused on strengthening the role of local communities, which will provide a significant amount of power and control over their own affairs. Implementation of decentralization processes, in turn, will contribute to strengthening democracy in the country and improve its stability.
