On the 6th of October, 2016 Department of Theory and History of State and Law of Educational and Scientific Institute of Law to discuss the formation of a modern model of constitutionalism and problems to implement the constitutional reform in Ukraine conducted the scientific and practical “round table” on the theme “Constitutionalism and the Constitution of Ukraine.”
Professor of Management and Human Resources Department of National Academy of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleksiy Kopan; Assistant Professor of Public Legislation and Law Department of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, PhD (Law), Professor Larysa Snisarenko; Assistant Professor of Public Legislation and Law Department of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, PhD (History), Associate Professor Victor Melnychenko; Professor of Public Legislation and Law Department of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, PhD (Law), Associate Professor Natalia Plakhotnyuk; Associate Professor of Transport Law and Logistics Department of National Transport University, PhD (Law), Associate Professor Eugeniya Dovzhenko; Head of Department of Legal Maintenance of National University of Defense of Ukraine naimed after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, PhD (Law), Colonel of Justice Mykhailo Prokhorenko; Associate Professor of Law Department of Kyiv Cooperative Institute of Business and Law, PhD (Law), Associate Professor Liliya Andruschenko, the scientific and teaching staff of Educational and Scientific Institute of Law participated at the event. During this event the scientists highlighted the theoretical and practical aspects of modern Ukrainian constitutionalism and constitutional justice formation. In particular, the question of the constitutional and legal basis of democracy as a source of power, its implementation through the institutes of direct democracy, state power and self-government have been discussed. The issues of national constitutional process development in the context of changes in political, economic and social spheres of public life have been debatable. The results of the “round table” has been represented in the form of the participants’ conclusion that the constitutional reform in Ukraine is the prerequisite to create the latest model of constitutionalism, corresponding to European integration and globalization processes of present days. It is quite important on the current stage of constitutionalism development to consider the foreign experience of self-organization institute implementation, and creation of conditions for increasing the level of legal culture in the society.
